In the spring of 2019, Jennie Lindell and I participated voluntarily in a private initiative that needed our help. This project aimed to provide eight graders at suburban schools in Gothenburg with meaningful internships in order to foster integration. We developed a name, concept and graphic identity, everything in close collaboration with the students.
The name ”Bloom Gbg” came from the insight that the students saw the internship as an opportunity to grow and learn above anything else. We felt that it was important for the identity to feel youthful, optimistic and inspirational – it should empower both the students and the hard working people who took them in. We wanted the students’ energy and the powerful message of this project to be reflected in the identity and also took inspiration from the students’ own visual references which we’ve asked them to provide.
